A fix is available that addresses the underflow by ignoring duplicate or stale acknowledgments before modifying counters. Users should apply the official patches or updates that include this fix. Check the vendor advisory or Linux kernel update channels for the relevant patched versions.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TIPC protocol caused an underflow in the bc_ackers counter due to duplicate GRP_ACK_MSG handling. This underflow led to persistent congestion reports and blocked group broadcasts on affected sockets until the group was recreated. The issue was fixed by making the GRP_ACK_MSG handling idempotent, ignoring duplicate or stale acknowledgments before modifying counters.
