AI-suggested
A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel versions identified by the fixed commit hashes. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, applying the official kernel patches or upgrading to a fixed kernel release is the recommended mitigation.
Description
CVE-2026-31675 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netem network scheduler. It involves an out-of-bounds memory access caused by improper handling of fully non-linear packets in the packet corruption logic. The flaw occurs when skb_headlen(skb) returns zero, leading to an unconstrained random index used to modify packet data. This has been fixed by adding a check to ensure skb_headlen(skb) is non-zero before corruption attempts.
