A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel versions identified by the fixed commit hashes. Users should update to a kernel version including these fixes to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bnxt_en driver involves improper deletion logic for RSS contexts, causing resource leaks of VNICs in firmware when the network interface is closed with active RSS contexts. This can lead to failures in creating new VNICs on subsequent interface opens, resulting in loss of active RSS contexts. The issue is fixed by removing an unnecessary condition that restricted deletion to when the interface is running.
