If you cannot patch yet, consider limiting exposure of the Prosody service to untrusted networks or implementing external rate limiting on XML parsing requests to mitigate resource exhaustion.

Description

CVE-2026-43507 is a medium severity vulnerability in Prosody affecting versions before 0.12.6 and 1.0.0 through 13.0.0 before 13.0.5. It allows unauthenticated attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via memory exhaustion due to XML parsing resource amplification. This issue arises from allocation of resources without limits or throttling during XML parsing.
