Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-46390 describes an authorization bypass vulnerability (CWE-639) in the gitlist plugin of haxcms-php, a component of HAX CMS. Versions starting at 2.0.0 and prior to 26.0.0 expose the gitlist plugin to unauthenticated users, enabling them to browse git repositories and git history without authentication. This could lead to unauthorized information disclosure. The issue is resolved in version 26.0.0.

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated attackers can access git repositories and their history through the gitlist plugin, potentially exposing sensitive source code or repository metadata. There is no indication of privilege escalation or code execution. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 6.9 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and low impact on confidentiality.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade haxcms-php to version 26.0.0 or later, which patches this authorization bypass vulnerability. No other official remediation or temporary fixes are documented. Until upgraded, restrict access to the gitlist plugin or disable it if possible.
