Description

CVE-2026-53368 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's f2fs filesystem where incorrect usage of nat_entry flags without proper locking can cause filesystem inconsistencies detected by fsck. The issue arises because f2fs_need_dentry_mark() reads nat_entry flags without mutual exclusion with checkpoint operations, leading to inconsistent inode block marking states. This flaw has been fixed by moving the set_dentry_mark() call into a properly locked context within __write_node_folio().
