AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-147.147 and later, as well as other specified fixed versions. Users and administrators should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iio light driver for the VEML6075 sensor was fixed by adding a bounds check to prevent out-of-bounds array access. The index veml6075_it_ms has 5 elements, but the configuration register can yield values up to 7, which could cause an out-of-bounds access. This issue is a hardening measure against faulty devices, misprogramming, or bus corruption. The flaw was resolved in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-147.147 and later.
