Published: 09/17/2026 (09/17/2026, 21:46:27 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: givanz
Product: Vvveb

Description

Vvveb is a powerful and easy to use CMS with page builder to build websites, blogs or ecommerce stores. From 1.0.0 until 1.0.8.5, saveGlobalElements() in admin/controller/editor/global-trait.php concatenates the attacker-controlled file portion of data-v-save-global to the active theme directory before loadHTMLFile() and file_put_contents() operate on it. An authenticated user with the default Editor role and editor/* permission can submit crafted HTML to module=editor/editor&action=save and traverse to an existing writable PHP file outside the theme directory. If the target is web-accessible, editor-controlled PHP content executes in the web server context; a shipped public/vadmin/index.php entrypoint can be used as an execution trampoline rather than requiring a test-only file. This can permit persistent webshell placement and compromise application confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.8.5.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability exists in the saveGlobalElements() function in admin/controller/editor/global-trait.php of givanz Vvveb CMS. It concatenates attacker-controlled input from data-v-save-global to the active theme directory path without proper validation, enabling path traversal. An authenticated user with editor/* permissions can exploit this to overwrite existing writable PHP files outside the intended directory. The overwritten PHP files can then be executed via a public entrypoint (public/vadmin/index.php), allowing persistent remote code execution. This compromises confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the application. The issue is resolved in version 1.0.8.5.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated user with Editor role to place and execute arbitrary PHP code on the server, leading to full compromise of the application environment. This includes persistent webshell installation, enabling attackers to maintain access and control over the system, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade to version 1.0.8.5 or later where this vulnerability is fixed. Until then, restrict Editor role permissions to trusted users only. No other official mitigations are provided.
