Vendor/Project: LabRedesCefetRJ
Product: WeGIA

Description

CVE-2026-55679 is an OS command injection vulnerability in the WeGIA web manager for charitable institutions. Versions prior to 3.8.6 have a pre-installation endpoint that processes unauthenticated POST data, allowing crafted input to reach shell_exec() calls. This can lead to command execution as the web-server user, attacker-controlled PHP configuration persistence, and alteration or disruption of application data. The issue is fixed in version 3.8.6.

Technical Analysis

WeGIA versions before 3.8.6 contain an OS command injection vulnerability in the pre-installation web/instalador/instalador.php endpoint. This endpoint is accessible before config.php exists and processes unauthenticated installation POST data. In the Linux reinstall flow, a crafted 'usuario' parameter is passed to shell_exec(), enabling arbitrary command execution as the web-server user. Additionally, attacker-controlled values are written into the executable config.php and concatenated into a CREATE DATABASE SQL statement, allowing persistent malicious configuration and potential data disruption. The vulnerability is addressed in version 3.8.6.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands with the privileges of the web-server user, persist malicious PHP configuration code, and alter or disrupt the application and its data. This can compromise the integrity and availability of the affected system.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade to WeGIA version 3.8.6 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated.
