Technical Analysis
PraisonAI versions 4.5.112 through 4.6.58 have an improper authentication vulnerability due to the Recipe HTTP server being launched without authentication middleware when started via a deprecated Typer command. Specifically, the server can bind to a non-localhost interface without enforcing API-key or JWT authentication because config.auth is absent. This allows unauthenticated requests to access the recipe API and the /admin/reload endpoint if enabled. The vulnerability is fixed in version 4.6.59.
Potential Impact
Unauthenticated attackers can access the recipe API and potentially perform administrative actions such as reloading the server configuration via the /admin/reload endpoint. This leads to a high impact on integrity and a low impact on confidentiality, with no impact on availability. The CVSS 3.1 score is 8.2 (high severity).
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade PraisonAI to version 4.6.59 or later, where this authentication issue has been fixed. Until then, avoid starting the Recipe HTTP server on non-localhost interfaces or ensure additional access controls are in place. No other vendor advisory information is provided, so check the vendor's official advisory for further guidance.
