Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: misskey-dev
Product: misskey

Description

Misskey, an open source federated social media platform, has a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in its URL preview functionality prior to version 2026.6.0. The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause the server to initiate HTTP requests to internal network addresses due to missing network restrictions before outbound connections. Although IP address validation occurs after the request is sent and rejects the process, no sensitive internal data is believed to be exposed. This issue is fixed in version 2026.6.0.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-57575 is a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the UrlPreviewService of Misskey versions before 2026.6.0. The vulnerability arises because the application does not enforce network restrictions before establishing outbound HTTP connections for URL previews, allowing an attacker to make the server send requests to loopback, private, or link-local IP addresses. However, since IP validation happens post-request and rejects the connection, sensitive internal data is not believed to be leaked. The vulnerability is addressed in Misskey version 2026.6.0.

Potential Impact

An attacker can induce the Misskey server to send HTTP requests to internal network addresses, potentially enabling scanning or interaction with internal services. However, due to the post-request IP validation and rejection, no sensitive internal data is believed to be disclosed to the attacker. There are no known exploits in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Misskey to version 2026.6.0 or later, where this SSRF vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated or required according to the available information.
