AI-suggested

A patch addressing the exec credential plugin execution path has been released in commit 7e4222b. Users should apply this patch to remediate the code injection aspect of the vulnerability. However, the server-side request forgery (SSRF) vector remains unpatched; users should monitor vendor advisories for updates addressing this issue. Until a full fix is available, restrict Secret read access to trusted users and namespaces to limit exploitation potential.

Description

CVE-2026-62284 is a high-severity code injection vulnerability in the osac-project's osac-operator Kubernetes operator. The vulnerability arises from the console-proxy component's RemoteConfigResolver parsing Kubernetes Secret kubeconfig data without sanitizing the rest.Config, allowing an attacker with Secret read access to execute arbitrary processes via a crafted exec credential plugin. Additionally, attacker-controlled server addresses enable server-side request forgery (SSRF) from the proxy pod. The local mode of the operator is unaffected. A patch addressing the credential-plugin execution was made, but the SSRF issue remains unpatched.
