What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been applied in the Linux kernel to clear DMA channel pointers on DMA setup failure in the spi: ep93xx driver. Users should update to the fixed kernel version once available. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the provided data; check the Linux kernel vendor advisory or source repository for the specific fixed version and apply the update accordingly.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's spi: ep93xx driver could lead to a null pointer dereference after a DMA setup failure. The driver attempts to fall back to PIO mode if DMA setup fails during probe, but failing to clear DMA channel pointers on setup failure may cause dereferencing of an error pointer during later probe errors or driver unbind. This issue has been fixed in the Linux kernel.
