AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a fixed kernel version that includes the patch identified by commits be93d186ae88a92e7aa77e122d4e661fa57b1e39, 04a177f91160ee18da98f5689482cf0f589ec869, or 0cdbb97a4dbd69abdd2ab998b4fbc7803d4b0b72. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

CVE-2026-64293 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iommufd component where a size check uses sizeof(pointer) instead of sizeof(struct), leading to an underestimation of the buffer size on 32-bit systems. This can cause a buffer overflow when copying event data to user space. The issue is fixed by using sizeof(*hdr) consistently to correctly check the buffer size.
