Description
A use-after-free vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth L2CAP channel timeout handling. The flaw occurs when the l2cap_chan_timeout() function accesses a connection object that may have been freed if the connection is torn down while the timer is active. This can lead to kernel memory corruption and potential privilege escalation. The issue is resolved by ensuring the channel holds a reference to the connection, preventing premature freeing. Multiple Linux kernel versions prior to fixed releases are affected.
