What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to correct the condition that zeroes the trailing word in snd_seq_event_dup(), preventing the uninitialized heap leak. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel version containing this fix. No additional mitigation is indicated or required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A heap information leak vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel ALSA sequencer subsystem due to an uninitialized memory word in snd_seq_event_dup(). This flaw allows stale kernel heap data to be copied to user space when legacy events are delivered unconverted to UMP clients, potentially exposing sensitive kernel memory contents to unprivileged users.
