A fix is available in Linux kernel versions 6.1.34 and 6.3.8. Users and administrators should update to these or later patched versions to remediate the issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA cmipci driver was fixed by adding checks for the return value of snd_ctl_new1(). Without these checks, a NULL pointer dereference could occur if memory allocation failed, potentially causing a kernel crash.
