Description
CVE-2026-68443 is a use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hwmon subsystem, specifically in the gigabyte_waterforce driver. The issue arises from a race condition caused by not stopping device I/O before calling hid_hw_stop(), which can lead to a UAF if the driver probe fails after I/O has started. This vulnerability has been fixed by ensuring hid_device_io_stop() is called before hid_hw_stop().
