AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-147.147, 6.8.0-1067.70, 7.0.0-1014.14~24.04.1, 6.8.0-1071.79, 7.0.0-1017.17~24.04.1, and others as listed in the fixedVersions. Users should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched subsystem (sch_taprio) was fixed by replacing a direct dequeue call with a safer peek and dequeue method. The flaw caused kernel panics due to orphaned packets and desynchronized queue lengths when handling non-work-conserving child qdiscs, particularly with qfq children. This could lead to denial of service via kernel panic during packet egress.
