AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions including 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should update their Linux kernel to one of the fixed versions to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI subsystem (elx: efct driver) caused an I/O leak when handling unsupported additional Command Descriptor Blocks (CDBs). The function efct_dispatch_fcp_cmd() allocated an I/O structure but failed to free it on error paths involving unsupported CDBs, leading to resource leakage. This issue has been fixed in multiple patched Linux kernel versions.
