Description
CVE-2026-72395 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hardware monitoring (hwmon) subsystem related to the PMBus regulator event handling. The flaw occurs because multiple regulator fault events combined into a bitmask are passed unmodified to the regulator core, which fails to handle combined events properly. This can cause critical hardware protection triggers to be bypassed. The issue has been fixed by changing the event handling to process each event bit individually.
