Description
CVE-2026-87041 is a memory-safety vulnerability in the Zephyr RTIO subsystem affecting versions from 3.3.0 up to but not including 4.3.2 and 4.4.0 up to but not including 4.5.0. The flaw arises from incorrect verification of user-supplied buffer pointers in the RTIO submission-queue verifier, allowing user threads with RTIO context to submit buffers that reference arbitrary kernel memory. This leads to arbitrary kernel memory writes, disclosures, or kernel faults, effectively allowing escape from user-mode isolation. The issue is fixed in versions 4.3.2 and 4.5.0.
