A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits. Users and administrators should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.
Description
CVE-2026-89848 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's qla2xxx SCSI driver. The flaw occurs because the request queue is freed before the response queue interrupt is disabled, allowing a response interrupt to access freed memory. This can lead to memory corruption and potentially allow an attacker to cause denial of service or escalate privileges. The issue affects Linux kernel version 4.10 and has been fixed in subsequent commits.
