Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-90922 is an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) in the Paid Membership Subscriptions WordPress plugin versions prior to 3.0.9. The flaw arises from the plugin's failure to verify that the amount and currency reported by the payment provider correspond to the expected pending payment. This allows unauthenticated attackers to complete a payment with a lower amount than required and gain unauthorized paid membership access.

Potential Impact

An attacker can bypass payment verification controls and obtain paid membership status without paying the full required amount. This could lead to unauthorized access to paid content or services, potentially causing financial loss to the site owner.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Paid Membership Subscriptions plugin to version 3.0.9 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated as the fix is available in the updated version.
