AI-suggested
A fix for this vulnerability is available and has been integrated into the Linux kernel in the specified commits. Users and administrators should update to a fixed kernel version that includes these patches. Since this is a kernel-level issue, applying the official kernel updates is the recommended remediation. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
CVE-2026-93170 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's dmaengine xilinx_dma driver. It involves a race condition in the AXIDMA and MCDMA interrupt handlers where the DMA channel could be incorrectly marked as idle while descriptors are still being processed. This leads to premature transfer attempts, potentially causing descriptor corruption or missed completions. The issue affects Linux kernel version 4.7. The flaw has been fixed by ensuring the channel is only marked idle and new transfers started when the active descriptor list is truly empty.
