AI-suggested
A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel source code as indicated by multiple fixed commit versions. Users and administrators should update their Linux kernel to a version that includes these fixes to prevent the divide-by-zero crash. No additional mitigation steps are necessary beyond applying the official patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's scheduler fair group scheduling code (sched/fair) causes a divide-by-zero crash due to an integer overflow in update_tg_cfs_runnable(). This flaw leads to corrupted load weight values and triggers a kernel crash when running workloads such as hackbench. The issue is fixed by widening an internal variable from 32-bit to 64-bit to prevent overflow.
