AI-suggested
A fix is available in the Linux kernel as indicated by the fixed commit versions. Users should update to a kernel version that includes the patches identified by the fixed commit hashes (e.g., b28fe65a36b8209b6adcf2722c7ce974cf9ac8d1 and others). No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's arm64 memory management subsystem was fixed involving a lockless page-table walk in the show_pte() function. The flaw allowed a concurrent teardown to free a page table while it was being walked, potentially causing the function to dereference freed memory or derive invalid pointers. The fix involves disabling local interrupts during the walk to prevent concurrent frees and using lockless offset helpers with saved parent entries to avoid stale pointer dereferences.
