Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-93993 describes a remote code execution vulnerability in mistral-vibe prior to version 2.25.5. The vulnerability arises because the worktree creation process executes git hooks before validating their trustworthiness. An attacker can exploit this by providing a repository containing a specially crafted post-checkout hook, which executes arbitrary shell commands with the privileges of the user running mistral-vibe.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely with the privileges of the user running mistral-vibe, potentially leading to full system compromise depending on user privileges.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade mistral-vibe to version 2.25.5 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation details are provided. Patch status is confirmed by the affectedVersions field indicating versions before 2.25.5 are vulnerable.
