Description
CVE-2026-98258 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's POSIX CPU timer code. It involves a race condition that can lead to use-after-free (UAF) when a timer is freed while still queued on the expiry list. This flaw arises from incorrect handling of the timer's firing state, which can cause the kernel to access freed memory.
