A fix has been implemented and is available in the Linux kernel commits listed as fixedVersions. Users should update their Linux kernel to a version including these fixes to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mac80211 WiFi subsystem involves the AP_VLAN tailroom counter not being reset on interface down (ifdown). This causes the counter to increment repeatedly when the same AP_VLAN interface is brought up multiple times, eventually triggering a kernel warning. The issue has been fixed by resetting the counter on ifdown.
