AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a fixed kernel version that includes the patch to ensure proper cleanup of secure device pages on uv_page_in() failure. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's KVM PPC Book3S HV subsystem causes a secure device page leak when uv_page_in() fails during kvmppc_svm_page_in(). This leak permanently consumes an entry from the secure memory pool, leaks allocated structures, and marks the guest frame number as secure, rendering it unusable for the VM's lifetime. The issue occurs on POWER9/10 systems with Ultravisor/PEF and is fixed by applying proper resource cleanup on failure paths.
