Description
CVE-2026-98512 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nouveau DRM driver scheduler. The flaw arises because the scheduler-containing object is freed without waiting for an RCU grace period, leading to potential dereferencing of freed memory when userspace queries fence timeline names. This issue has been fixed by changing the free operation to use kfree_rcu(), ensuring safe memory reclamation.
