AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions identified by the commits 2423a05dd0f21330c47ce0ae1cb54a8b0be821e2, 472df1d103dbe3e9d09156f0667e36180e912c46, and 5d5fbfbbacd1efb13a9bf91317d4fde859ede4b9. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nvmet pci-epf component allows out-of-bounds reads due to improper handling of too-short SGL segments. Specifically, when the host provides an SGL segment length smaller than one descriptor but nonzero, the kernel reads memory before the allocated buffer, potentially leading to kernel panic. This issue has been fixed by rejecting segments that cannot hold at least one descriptor.
