A fix for this vulnerability is available and should be applied by updating to patched kernel versions. Users should upgrade to fixed versions of the Linux kernel where this issue has been resolved. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A reference leak vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's drm/mediatek driver in the mtk_drm_bind() function. When the device is not the mmsys master, the function takes a reference on the disp-mutex device but returns early without releasing it, causing a reference leak. This issue has been fixed by ensuring the reference is dropped before returning from the non-master path.
