A fix is available in the Linux kernel as indicated by the fixed commit versions. Users should update to a kernel version containing the fix to resolve the shrinker accounting underflow. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official patch.
Description
A flaw in the Linux kernel's drm/xe subsystem caused incorrect accounting in the memory shrinker due to double-subtraction when external buffer objects (BOs) are pinned multiple times. This led to underflow in shrinker page counts, causing excessive memory reclaim activity under pressure. The issue was fixed by ensuring accounting updates occur only on the outermost pin and final unpin, and by excluding imported dma-bufs from shrinker accounting.
