CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor in decolua 9router (CVE-2026-55500)

Critical
Published: 07/10/2026 (07/10/2026, 15:28:27 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Vendor/Project: decolua
Product: 9router

Description

CVE-2026-55500 is a critical vulnerability in decolua 9router versions prior to 0.4.80. The /api/settings/database endpoint allows unauthenticated full database export and import, exposing sensitive information such as credentials, API keys, OAuth tokens, and settings. The vulnerability arises because the endpoint only requires validation via the ALWAYS_PROTECTED middleware, which accepts JWT or CLI tokens without sufficient authentication. This issue is fixed in version 0.4.80.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in decolua 9router before version 0.4.80 involves the /api/settings/database endpoint permitting full database export and import operations without proper authentication. The middleware protecting this endpoint only validates JWT or CLI tokens, which is insufficient to prevent unauthorized access. As a result, an attacker with limited privileges can access or overwrite the entire database, exposing highly sensitive information including credentials, API keys, OAuth tokens, and configuration settings. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-200 (Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor) and has a CVSS 3.1 score of 9.9, indicating critical severity. The issue has been resolved in version 0.4.80.

Potential Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows an attacker to export the full database containing all sensitive credentials, API keys, OAuth tokens, and settings, leading to a complete compromise of confidentiality. Additionally, the attacker can import a database to overwrite existing data, impacting integrity and availability. The vulnerability thus affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system, making it a critical security risk.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade decolua 9router to version 0.4.80 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Until the upgrade is applied, restrict access to the /api/settings/database endpoint and ensure that stronger authentication mechanisms are enforced beyond the ALWAYS_PROTECTED middleware. Patch status is confirmed fixed in version 0.4.80.
