Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-50750 describes a denial of service vulnerability in Apache ActiveMQ Broker where an unauthenticated attacker can cause an out-of-memory (OOM) condition by sending repeated BrokerInfo commands without accompanying ConnectionInfo messages. This triggers the broker to exhaust memory resources and crash. The vulnerability affects Apache ActiveMQ Broker versions from 5.19.7 before 5.19.8 and from 6.2.6 before 6.2.7. The issue arose following a fix for CVE-2026-49270. The vendor recommends upgrading to version 6.2.7 to remediate this vulnerability.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to cause a denial of service by crashing the Apache ActiveMQ broker through an out-of-memory condition. This disrupts message broker availability but does not impact confidentiality or integrity.
Mitigation Recommendations
Users should upgrade Apache ActiveMQ Broker to version 6.2.7 or later, which contains the official fix for this vulnerability. No other mitigations are specified.
