A fix is available in FreeRDP version 3.22.0 and later. Users should upgrade to version 3.22.0 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No vendor advisory content contradicts this; thus, upgrading is the recommended mitigation.
Description
FreeRDP versions before 3.22.0 have a use-after-free vulnerability in the dvcman_channel_close and dvcman_call_on_receive functions caused by improper synchronization of channel_callback access. A malicious RDP server can exploit this race condition by sending concurrent DYNVC_DATA and DYNVC_CLOSE messages, leading to heap-use-after-free in the drdynvc client thread. This flaw can potentially allow remote code execution or denial of service.
