What to do
AI-suggested
This vulnerability is fixed in Firefox 132, Firefox ESR 128.4, Thunderbird 132, and Thunderbird ESR 128.4. Users and administrators should update to these versions or later to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official updates.
Description
A vulnerability in Firefox and Thunderbird prior to versions 132 and 128.4 ESR respectively allows cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks due to the Content-Disposition: attachment header being ignored in multipart/x-mixed-replace responses. This causes the browser not to force a download as intended, potentially enabling malicious script execution.
