Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's UDF file system implementation allowed descriptors with an oversized CRC length to bypass CRC validation. This flaw permitted acceptance of crafted UDF images based solely on an 8-bit tag checksum, which is easily recomputable. The issue has been resolved by rejecting such descriptors. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.0-1112.119~20.04.1 and related versions. A patch is available and should be applied.
