Red Hat Security Advisory: kernel security updateCVE-2026-31678 0 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: openvswitch: defer tunnel netdev_put to RCU release ovs_netdev_tunnel_destroy() may run after NETDEV_UNREGISTER already detached the device. Dropping the netdev reference in destroy can race with concurrent readers that still observe vport->dev. Do not release vport->dev in ovs_netdev_tunnel_destroy(). Instead, let vport_netdev_free() drop the reference from the RCU callback, matching the non-tunnel destroy path and avoiding additional synchronization under RTNL. Ghostscript versions prior to 10.08.0 have a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the JPEG 2000 output adapter. This occurs when processing crafted PDFs containing JPEG 2000 images with mismatched component subsampling factors, causing memory corruption. Exploitation can lead to remote code execution without user interaction. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 10/13/2026, 21:33:26 UTC Added: 09/15/2026, 22:11:51 UTC |
Squid is a caching proxy for the Web. From 3.3.0.1 to before 7.6, due to an improper enforcement of behavioral workflow bug, Squid is vulnerable to a Request Smuggling attack against HTTP/1.1 Transfer-Encoding. HTTP header parsing (`src/HttpHeader.cc`) accepted the bare` Transfer-Encoding:` identity form, which the HTTP specification prohibits because any transfer coding must be wrapped within chunked encoding. This problem allows a trusted client to perform an HTTP Request Smuggling attack when HTTP/1.1 is used, bypassing security mechanisms that may be in place between attacker and Squid. When there is an HTTP cache operating prior to the affected Squid, this Request Smuggling attack also allows the attacker to poison that web cache and store arbitrary malicious content at any URL for delivery to other clients' future requests. This issue is fixed in version 7.6. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 10/13/2026, 16:29:37 UTC Added: 09/19/2026, 01:27:09 UTC |
Red Hat Security Advisory: kernel security updateCVE-2026-46309 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/xe/uapi subsystem was resolved by adding validation to reject PAT indices with XE_COH_NONE coherency mode when applied to CPU cached memory. This issue could allow a GPU to bypass CPU caches and read stale sensitive data directly from DRAM, potentially leaking data from previously freed pages of other processes. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28 and related versions. A patch is available and should be applied to mitigate the risk. A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's thermal subsystem was fixed to address an error path in thermal zone device registration. The issue involved missing synchronization that could cause premature freeing of thermal zone device data if an error occurred during registration. This flaw could lead to system instability or crashes. The vulnerability is part of a broader set of Linux kernel security fixes addressing multiple subsystems and architectures. A patch is available and users are advised to update and reboot their systems. The update requires recompilation of third-party kernel modules due to an ABI change.
