Description

JeecgBoot versions up to 3.9.5 have a missing authorization vulnerability in the PUT /sys/dict/editDictByLowAppId endpoint. Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in JeecgBoot up to version 3.9.5 is due to missing authorization checks on the PUT /sys/dict/editDictByLowAppId endpoint. Authenticated users can supply a low_app_id parameter or X-Low-App-ID header, obtained from the GET /sys/dict/list endpoint, to modify low-code application dictionaries. This allows unauthorized modification of dictionary names and their items, representing a CWE-862 (Missing Authorization) issue. The CVSS 3.1 score is 4.3, indicating medium severity with low impact on confidentiality and availability but limited impact on integrity.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows any authenticated user to modify low-code application dictionaries without proper authorization. This can lead to unauthorized changes in dictionary names and contents, potentially affecting application behavior or data integrity. There is no impact on confidentiality or availability reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or vendor advisory is provided in the input data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to authenticated users carefully and monitor usage of the affected endpoint to detect unauthorized modifications.
