Description

JeecgBoot versions through 3.9.5 have a missing authorization vulnerability in the saveDatarule handler of the SysDepartPermissionController. This flaw allows any authenticated user, including low-privileged attackers, to modify department data rules by sending crafted POST requests. The vulnerability enables unauthorized changes, additions, or removals of data rules on department-menu permission bindings.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in JeecgBoot up to version 3.9.5 is due to missing authorization checks in the saveDatarule handler of the SysDepartPermissionController. Authenticated users can exploit this by sending POST requests with parameters departId, permissionId, and dataRuleIds to the endpoint /sys/sysDepartPermission/datarule, allowing them to alter data rules associated with department-menu permission bindings without proper permission validation.

Potential Impact

An attacker with low privileges who is authenticated can modify data rules on any department-menu permission binding. This could lead to unauthorized changes in access control configurations, potentially weakening security policies related to department data access. The CVSS score of 4.3 reflects a medium severity impact with no confidentiality or availability impact but with integrity impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the affected endpoint to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to department data rule modifications.
