Description

JeecgBoot versions through 3.9.5 have a missing authorization vulnerability in the SysCategoryController importExcel handler. This flaw allows any authenticated user, including those with low privileges, to import crafted Excel files that bulk insert arbitrary nodes into the system-wide sys_category dictionary. This can lead to unauthorized modification of category dictionary entries.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108646 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in JeecgBoot through version 3.9.5 within the SysCategoryController importExcel handler. The vulnerability permits any authenticated user to upload specially crafted Excel workbooks to bulk insert arbitrary nodes into the sys_category dictionary, including under existing parent nodes. This allows low-privileged attackers to modify system-wide category data without proper authorization controls.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability enables low-privileged authenticated users to perform unauthorized modifications to the sys_category dictionary by bulk inserting arbitrary nodes. This impacts the integrity of system-wide category data but does not affect confidentiality or availability according to the CVSS vector (no confidentiality or availability impact, limited integrity impact).

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the importExcel functionality to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious import activity.
