Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-108636 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in JeecgBoot through version 3.9.5. Specifically, the SysDepartController's appImportExcel handler does not properly restrict access, allowing any authenticated user to POST a crafted Excel workbook to /sys/sysDepart/appImportExcel. This results in unauthorized creation of sys_depart records, potentially altering the department structure managed by administrators. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-862 (Missing Authorization).
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows low-privileged authenticated users to create arbitrary department records in the system, which could lead to unauthorized modifications of organizational data. There is no direct confidentiality or availability impact reported. The integrity of the department data is affected due to unauthorized record creation.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the appImportExcel endpoint to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious import activity. Avoid granting unnecessary authentication privileges to untrusted users.
