Description
JeecgBoot versions through 3.9.5 have a missing authorization vulnerability that allows low-privileged authenticated users to modify message push records. Technical Analysis
The vulnerability in JeecgBoot up to version 3.9.5 is due to missing authorization checks on the PUT /sys/message/sysMessage/edit API endpoint. This flaw permits authenticated users with low privileges to modify message push records arbitrarily by specifying any sys_sms record ID in the request body. The lack of ownership validation enables unauthorized modification of message details including title, content, receiver address, and send status.
Potential Impact
An attacker with low-level authentication can alter message push records without proper authorization, potentially leading to unauthorized message content changes. The vulnerability does not impact confidentiality or availability but affects integrity of message push records.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected API endpoint to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious modification attempts.
