Description

LaraDashboard versions before 1.4.8 have an improper privilege management vulnerability that enables authenticated Admin users to escalate their privileges to Superadmin. This escalation is possible by editing or renaming roles, allowing attackers with the role.edit permission to rename their role to Superadmin or grant themselves user.login_as permissions. This access can lead to account takeover and the ability to perform core upgrade and module installation functions, potentially enabling code execution.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105126 describes an improper privilege management vulnerability in LaraDashboard before version 1.4.8. Authenticated users with Admin privileges and role.edit permissions can escalate to Superadmin by modifying role names or permissions. This allows them to gain user.login_as permissions, enabling account takeover and access to sensitive administrative functions including core upgrades and module installations, which could be exploited for code execution.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authenticated Admin access can escalate privileges to Superadmin, gaining full control over the system. This includes the ability to perform core upgrades and install modules, which may lead to arbitrary code execution and complete compromise of the affected system.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade to LaraDashboard version 1.4.8 or later where this vulnerability is fixed. Since the vulnerability affects versions before 1.4.8, applying this official fix will remediate the issue. No other mitigation steps are indicated.
