Description
A vulnerability in the Netfilter subsystem of the Linux kernel (CVE-2024-0607) involves improper handling in the nft_byteorder_eval() function, where 8 bytes are written per iteration to an array of u32 elements that only have space for 4 bytes each. This causes memory corruption. The flaw allows a local user to cause denial of service or potentially disrupt Netfilter functionality. Multiple Linux Azure kernel versions prior to specific fixed releases are affected. Fixes have been released in various 5.4.x and 5.15.x kernel versions.
