AI-suggested
Apply the official security update provided by Ubuntu (USN-8761-2) which includes the fixed kernel version 6.8.0-1067.75+fips1. After updating, a system reboot is required to activate the fixes. Note that due to an ABI change, third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled. Follow standard system upgrade procedures to ensure all components are updated accordingly.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in the Linux kernel for the Azure FIPS variant affecting numerous subsystems including architectures (ARM32, ARM64, PowerPC), drivers, filesystems, networking, and security modules. These flaws could potentially allow an attacker to compromise the system. A security update addressing these issues has been released and is available for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with FIPS-certified kernel packages.
