AI-suggested
A patch is available and users should update to linux-azure-fips version 6.8.0-1063.71+fips2 or later. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply all changes. Due to an ABI change in the kernel update, all third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled. Follow the vendor advisory at https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-8608-1 for detailed update instructions.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in the linux-azure-fips kernel affecting various AMD processors and numerous Linux kernel subsystems. These include speculative execution data leakage, privilege escalation via cache resource isolation flaws, and entropy issues in RDSEED instruction handling. The update addresses these issues and many others across a wide range of kernel components and drivers. Affected systems should update to the fixed kernel version to mitigate potential system compromise.
